Lorenzo Quinn

Lorenzo Quinn was born in Rome, Italy in 1966. His father was the late Hollywood actor Anthony Quinn. He studied at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York and subsequently gained experience by working in workshops and foundries in America and Europe.
It is experiences in everyday life that motivate him to sculpt including the beauty of Nature, and the need to conserve and protect our environment. The human hand is a recurring theme as it holds much power - the power to love, to hate, to create and to destroy. He is inspired by Michelangelo, Bernini, and Rodin.
Lorenzo's works are in many impressive private collections, which include royalty (H.M. King of Spain Don Juan Carlos I, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum) and famous personalities (Sir Bernie Ecclestone, Sir Elton John, Lakshmi Mittal, Donald Trump and Rudolph Guiliani). His works are also in public collections including museums, town halls and banks. His monumental sculptures include 'Encounters' in the city of Mallorca in 2003, and 'Aspire' in Doha, Qatar for the 2006 Asian Games '
Two of his sculptures 'What Goes Around, Comes Around' and 'The Force of Nature' were commissioned and installed in June 2008 by Galerie Belvedere at the Marina Barrage in Singapore. These sculptures are in the Permanent Collection of the Public Utilities Board of Singapore.
