Laurence Bonnel

French sculptor Laurence Bonnel (b. 1976, France) is represented by Galerie Belvedere. She graduated from Sorbonne University in 1997 and found her passion in sculpting in 1998. Bonnel learnt various sculpting techniques, such as modelling, carving, soldering, foundry, and patina from different masters.

Bonnel’s works often feature silhouettes of human figures, reflecting her interest in the complexity of human interactions and relationships. Leedon Residence in Singapore has 2 installations of Bonnel’s sculptures, namely Muses and Sentinels. Muses is a unique installation of 7 contemporary aluminium sculptures that depict guardians of the Arts, inspiring music, dance, poetry, literature, and the sciences. Sentinels is an outstanding installation of 9 timeless bronze sculptures, forming a stunning collection against the backdrop of the travertine marble wall and lush foliage.

Bonnel has held many exhibitions internationally. In 2006, she exhibited 3 sculptures in the Grand Palais in Paris, and subsequently at the Jane Griffiths Gallery in Val d’Isère and Marie-Laure de l’Ecotais in Paris. Her sculptures can been found in Singapore, France, Geneva, Gstaad, Rome, Milan, Madrid, Barcelona, London and New York.

Bonnel’s works are in major corporate as well as private collections. She made a 30-metre long sculpture for a private collector. In 2010, the DATRIS foundation for contemporary sculpture acquired an outstanding piece from her, and the Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez procured a 13 Silhouette sculpture installation for their lobby.
